Who we are
Amelia K Academy (“we”, “us”, “the academy”) is a performing arts school based in Malvern, Worcestershire. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy.
What we collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
- Names and contact details for students and their parents or guardians.
- Dates of birth and age group, to place students in the right classes.
- Relevant medical or accessibility information you choose to share, so we can keep students safe.
- Enquiry and booking details, including messages you send us through this website.
- Emergency contact information.
How we use it
We use your information to:
- Enrol students and administer their classes, exams and performances.
- Contact you about classes, timetables, events and invoices.
- Keep students safe and respond to emergencies.
- Reply to enquiries you send us.
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with third parties except where necessary to run the academy (for example our booking provider) or where we are required to by law.
Booking and payments
Class bookings are handled through Membermeister, our booking and membership provider. Payments are made by bank transfer. Any details you enter on the booking platform are handled under that provider’s own privacy terms.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information only for as long as needed to provide our classes and meet our legal obligations, after which it is securely deleted.
Photography and video
We sometimes photograph or film classes, showcases and events for our website and social media. We ask for your consent for this, and you can withdraw it at any time by contacting us.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to certain uses. To exercise any of these rights, please get in touch.
